Dear elected official,
I believe that cultural organizations are important to the vibrancy of Central Indiana. Our cultural organizations provide rich learning experiences for our youth. They are a vital industry, which employs many Hoosiers.
In fact, the 38 arts and cultural organizations that are a part of the Indianapolis Consortium of Arts Administrators (ICAA) spend nearly $50 million with businesses in Indiana annually. The ICAA organizations remit more than $4.5 million in taxes to the State of Indiana and welcome more than 4.1 million visitors to museum exhibitions, musical performances, live theater, and other cultural experiences.
I urge you to consider the importance of our cultural organizations when you make public policy decisions. The examples I have given are just a few of the reasons why I believe that Indy Culture Matters.
